Rally For Trayvon Martin Held in Cleveland

CLEVELAND – “We are all Trayvon Martin” rang out as people rallied in front of the federal courthouse on Saturday as part of a coordinated national effort for Trayvon Martin.

Vigils entitled “Justice for Trayvon” were planned in 100 cities across America.

Martin, 17, was unarmed when he was shot and killed last year by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Florida.

A jury found Zimmerman not guilty of murder last weekend at a trial where Zimmerman said he acted in self-defense during a fight with Martin.

One of the speakers in Cleveland, Reverend Dr. Otis Moss Jr. of the Oliver Baptist Church, told the crowd to pursue non-violence and voting as ways to make a difference in society.

“We can change the world,” he said.
